So many afternoons I play my guitar and sing in nearly local park on a bench surrounded by a grove of redwood trees. Often no one is there, sometimes couples with youngsters and a dog, sometimes just another single older person sitting alone. I am drawn to the peacefulness and warmth of these magnificent trees, a deep green lawn, the old gardens and sunshine. Folks don't speak loudly, they just settle in, relax and breathe the delicious air pouring out from the trees themselves. All of life, exchanging molecules and celebrating our existence.
I used to love talking and listening to trees. This is a reminder to start that again -- to reconnect with nature that is full of wisdom, love and inspiration.
As we now know, mycelium are the neurons of nature. A whole underworld of wisdom, communication, helping all those connected to them.
You are welcome, Eddie. Yes, nature is so full of wisdom and honestly I feel like I am just beginning this journey in a whole new relationship with nature. One where nature isn't an object, but a living entity that I can communicate and be in relationship with. I'm delighted this resonated with you too and that there are others out there who feel the same and are also exploring nature in this way!
Thank you Annette. I’m humbled to hear that my message landed in a heartwarming way for you, as I am so deeply appreciative of indigenous wisdom. The time is now for us to listen to your wisdom. 🌹
I've been going through this conundrum of wanting to disconnect from the digital world and get lost in nature and learn to turn off my logical brain and get more in tune with the right side. Stumbling upon this article supports my need to reconnect and tune into this ancient practice of connection with the natural world so we can listen and learn. Thank you for such a great article!
Ahh thank you Adrienne 🙏 I’m humbled and grateful that you found value here and took time to comment 🙏. I agree that it is a conundrum….these days I take time first thing in the morning to connect before I do anything digital. It helps me ground and connect to nature before anything else. I let her messages guide my day. ❤️
Amen Holly. Opening our hearts beyond our cultural limitations is a big ask and courageous step. I am with you in all the ways you spoke of so beautifully.🙏🏼❤️
I struggle with believing most of these things - but as you rightly point out this is due to Western science based learning. Who REALLY knows the answers to so many things... and so many things we think we know the answers to turn out dead wrong anyway. Thoughtful and fascinating, thanks for writing this.

Beautiful! I don't know how, but I truly believe the trees are listening, and are grateful.
Hallelujah Holly 🥰

Yes!! This is a crucial step missing in conservation- recognizing nature’s aliveness 🌿✨So cool to see a scientist come to this conclusion
I accidentally clicked on this and I’m so glad I did.
I’m indigenous and it’s so heartwarming to read about embracing indigenous values, especially now.
