The frequencies of earth are whispering to you…
Can you hear them?
Can you feel them?
Or are they masked by all the manmade sounds?
As I sit here typing this newsletter, the hum of my refrigerator is droning while a bird is chirping outside my patio.
Humanity's disconnect with nature is akin to only hearing the hum of the refrigerator, and forgetting the song of the birds. We’ve become attuned to the mechanical frequencies of modern life, while the subtler, life-giving frequencies of the natural world fade into the background.
This disconnect is deeply reflected in our built environments.
Modern structures shield us from nature’s rhythms—blocking out the full moon’s glow, and separating us from the earth beneath our feet.
Over the centuries—perhaps even millennia—we have gradually moved indoors, creating artificial spaces that disregard how the energy of our surroundings affects us. We've forgotten that our homes, like our bodies, are meant to resonate with the earth’s natural frequencies.
Of course, we experience what we need to learn. The way that the energy of my home affects my being was hammered home to me last week.
A POWERFUL LESSON
You see, I am in the midst of selling my condo and I was advised to hire a woman to “stage” my home for showing and pictures. So, I took down my artwork, personal pictures, and altars, to be replaced by her artwork and statues.
That evening, sitting with my partner in our home, we both felt completely displaced. The stager’s artwork was sweet and fine, but it wasn’t ours. We looked at each other in bewilderment like “What just happened???”
I felt like a turtle whose shell had just been pulled off.
The relationship of home and being is the ancient art of Feng Shui. Although Feng Shui is something I’ve been aware of for decades, suddenly, my interest was peaked. And, as the universe does, it brought me exactly what I needed to hear in the form of this podcast episode by Feng Shui expert Patricia Lohan.
The light turned on – oh Feng Shui isn’t just about putting flowers in the abundance section of your home to earn money. Feng Shui is the practice and understanding that home is a mirror of our being.
As such, it’s a simple principle of resonance – think Marie Kondo -- with only keeping things that you love, and passing along anything that does not light you up. We want our home to have a clean, clear flow of energy. This includes passing along things that you no longer use (the cabinet full of twelve mugs when you only use four). Also so important to discard things that are broken and to fix things that need repair. When you walk into your home, you should feel joyful and happy.
24 hours following the staging of my condo, I changed my mind and called the stager to come back and pick up her art and statues. Even if my esoteric art might offend someone, I had to trust my body and inner knowing. With my things back on the walls, I felt my body relax and fully exhale. Whew, that was such a lesson in the power of space!
YOUR HOME IS A TUNING FORK
The power of frequency works powerfully in all areas of our lives, including in our physical spaces and shapes our mind and consciousness.
As Feng Shui master Guo Pu once said:
“Qi rides the wind and scatters, but is retained when encountering water. The sage’s dwelling is where the flow of Qi gathers and stops, shaping both the form of the land and the spirit within.”
This ancient wisdom reminds us that our space is not just a backdrop for our lives but a living force that shapes how we feel and move through the world. Qi, the energy that flows through our environment, works much like frequency. Just as a tuning fork resonates, our space vibrates with energy that influences our mood, our body, and even our thoughts.
When the frequency of our environment is out of balance—when clutter builds up, when we’re surrounded by things that don’t resonate with us—we feel it in our bodies. Our energy scatters. We feel ungrounded. But when our space is in harmony, when we align with the natural flow of Qi, we invite balance, clarity, and even a sense of peace into our lives.
Think of your home as a tuning fork for your well-being. The more you tune your space to the frequencies that light you up, the more your body and consciousness will attune to those same high vibrations. Feng Shui is not just about placing objects in the right spot—it’s about creating an environment that mirrors your highest self, where the energy flows freely, and you feel connected to the rhythms of life.
Just as I experienced with my own home, removing things that don’t resonate with you, clearing clutter, and surrounding yourself with what you truly love is key to elevating your frequency. It’s a practice of resonance—just like the principle of only keeping what sparks joy. Your home becomes a reflection of your inner world. By bringing harmony to your space, you restore harmony to your body, mind and soul.
REWILDING OUR HOMES
And so, as we attune our homes to these higher frequencies, we return to the whispering frequencies of the earth—the sounds and rhythms that have always been there, waiting for us to listen.
It’s not just about arranging furniture or choosing the right decor; it’s about creating a seamless flow between the manmade and the natural.
We’ve spent centuries building walls between ourselves and the natural world, insulating ourselves from the very frequencies that nurture us. But as we become more aware of how energy moves through space, we can begin to soften those walls, letting nature flow back in.
Imagine a world where the hum of a refrigerator no longer drowns out the birdsong—where the built environment isn’t something separate from nature but an extension of it. A space where the frequencies of your home resonate with the same pulse as the earth beneath it, creating a harmony that nourishes both body and spirit.
When we bring nature’s rhythms into our homes, we remind ourselves that we are not separate from the world around us.
The energy of the earth—the wind, the water, the trees—flows through us just as it flows through our spaces. And as we align with that energy, we are rewilding our homes where everything hums with the pulse of life.
In the end, the goal is not to distinguish between what is manmade and what is natural but to cultivate a space where everything feels natural, where every corner of your home vibrates with the frequency of life itself. When that happens, we return to the harmony that was always meant to be—a seamless flow between us and the world, where all is one, and we are deeply, truly at home.
HARMONIZING YOUR HOME WITH FREQUENCY
There are many ways to bring the frequencies of nature into our homes.
A few ideas to begin:
Consider the shape of the structure. Have you ever seen a square tepee? I love where this Nevada City based company is going with their geoship geodesic dome designs.
Bring more plants inside. Scientific studies confirm that plants increase our wellbeing in numerous ways.
Use frequency technology to harmonize your room environment.
Thanks Holly...true true true. We have lived in a small apartment in New York City. a "condo" in China, and now in a rural environment. I can tell you from first hand experience, the closer we can experience the vibration of Mother Nature, the better our health and hearts. For those who can I recommend...just stand next to a horse. If the horse is calm...just lay a hand on the horse and relax.
